JVP Boston aims to build power through education, asking strategic questions like “what do we need to know, feel, and believe in order to become activists for justice in Palestine and Israel?”
We do this by offering educational events with guest speakers, reading groups, and an introductory course on Israel and Palestine.
Beginning in the fall of 2013, JVP-Boston has held several iterations of a 6 week introductory course on history, politics, and activism related to Israel/Palestine. We are always looking for people interested in facilitating, attending, and/or revising the content of the course. We look forward to offering a new version of the course in Spring 2020. Contact us at email@example.com if you are interested in learning more.
These take a variety of forms: crash courses (condensed version of 101 Course), information sessions on Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS), film screenings, lectures and workshops. Let us know! Invited speakers have included representatives of Adalah, a 19 year old Israeli conscientious objector, Palestinian eco-activists, members of Researching the Israeli-American Alliance, and more. We held a reading group on antisemitism, and co-sponsored many events with other organizations related to current events. Our monthly meetings generally include an educational component. Have any educational events you’d like to see offered?
If you would like to become involved in any of our work, or have suggestions for additional projects, please attend one of JVP-Boston’s regular monthly meetings – or contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
